A DREAM PLAY
WRITTEN BY AUGUST STRINDBERG
A Dream Play was staged in the somewhat cramped upstairs studio of Soho Theatre, but the designer Asa Norling and I conspired to turn this piller-box shaped playing space to our advantage, approaching the production as a widescreen cinema experience and creating a surreal 1940s dream-scape inspired by the films of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger.
