THE TELLERS' TALES
DEVISED by CHRIS MEADS and the COMPANY
Charlotte-Rose de la Force is a force of nature, creating a whirlwind within the fairy story-telling salons of Paris whilst battling against the forces of oppression within the court of the Sun King…
One hundred years later, Dortchen Wild risks the wrath of her tyrannical father, and Napoleon’s Great Army, to share her fairy tales in secret with the Grimm brother whom she loves…
Sweeping across time and across Europe, The Tellers’ Tales was an original script devised by the company and I and inspired by our research into the epic, but little known, story of two extraordinary storytellers - Charlotte-Rose de la Force and Dortchen Wild - and the true-life love stories that inspired two well-loved fairy tales: Rapunzel and ThousandFurs.
